All I can is, wow! This was my first bed and breakfast experience and I already cannot wait to return to The Amber House! The house was pristine and beautiful. Our room, the Sapphire room, was roomy, cozy and comfortable. We loved the fireplace, robes, complimentary beverages and access to a huge selection of movies to finish our day off.

Hard to begin when everything is absolutely perfect from the time you arrive to the sad morning when reality sets in and you're heading home!! Good to book the next visit on that morning. Rooms are clean. Food is outstanding and every detail is addressed if allergies or "not an option" is needed.

OUR VILLAGE
The Amber House offers ideal accommodations for your next visit to Rocheport. While relaxing at the bed and breakfast is a wonderful way to enjoy your stay, there are lots of things to see if you choose to venture out. Our historic village offers excellent restaurants, fine shops, and art galleries all within walking distance from our front door. There are also many restored historic homes and buildings dating from the 1840s that can be visited on a walking tour and the Rocheport Museum is open on the weekends. Our town hosts a variety of events throughout the year including bicycle races, music festivals, a wine stroll, a wassail walk, a chocolate affair, and a caroling contest. LES BOURGEOIS WINERY AND VINEYARDS
The Amber House is the closest Rocheport bed and breakfast to the beautiful Les Bourgeois Winery. Enjoy award-winning, locally produced wines and sophisticated cuisine on a breathtaking blufftop overlooking the Missouri River. Les Bourgeois Bistro offers full service, casual dining with a radiant view. Their A-frame wine garden is open from March to October and is host to many events throughout the year. Visit their gift shop and tasting room to learn more and to book a tour. KATY TRAIL STATE PARK
The Amber House has plenty of bikes we are happy to loan to our guests. We are conveniently located just two blocks from Missouri's famous Katy Trail State Park which closely follows the Missouri River bluffs. It is over 240 miles long, making it the longest developed rail-trail in the country. The Katy Trail offers some of the most breathtaking scenes in the state and passes through quaint, historic towns along the way. - WARM SPRINGS RANCH -
THE FAMOUS BUDWEISER CLYDESDALE'S BREEDING FARM
Take a short country drive from The Amber House to Warm Springs Ranch, a state-of-the-art Budweiser Clydesdale breeding farm near Boonville. It is situated on 300-plus acres of rolling hills and is home to over 100 Clydesdales. The farm features a mare/stallion and foaling barn, veterinary lab, and 10 pastures. Visitors get a chance to interact with the handlers, take an hour and a half tour of the facility, and sample the beer. Tours are given from April 1 through October 31 by reservation only.
DAVISDALE CONSERVATION AREA
Davisdale Conservation Area is in Howard County is perfect for hiking. Located 5 miles west of Rocheport and seven miles east of Boonville on Highway 40, this 2,701-acre area features over riverhills woodland, which includes pecan and walnut, large tracts of warm- and cool-season grasses, interspersed with old fields, legumes and shrubs. The area contains at least three Indian mounds. Davisdale features a series of scenic limestone bluffs carved by the Missouri River, which now flows 1.5 miles away.
