All I can is, wow! This was my first bed and breakfast experience and I already cannot wait to return to The Amber House! The house was pristine and beautiful. Our room, the Sapphire room, was roomy, cozy and comfortable. We loved the fireplace, robes, complimentary beverages and access to a huge selection of movies to finish our day off. Dawson and Sherri provided luxury meals, (do not pass on the 4 course dinner with wine pairing!), massage, and complimentary bicycles to use on the beautiful Katy Trail. The town of Rocheport felt like a hidden gem in Missouri and we loved exploring the area. Highly recommend!!

I can't say enough good things about the Amber house. Dawson and Sherri made our anniversary weekend absolutely perfect! The food. Omg the food was superb! We had dinners there. The breakfast omg!! We also had the romance package. Amazing as well. We had massages as well! The bed was so comfy the whole atmosphere was just stellar!! I highly recommend staying here.

The Amber House is the BEST bed and breakfast in Rocheport! Dawson and Sherri treat their guests with top notch kindness and hospitality. All four of the house rooms are gorgeous with beautiful furniture and decor pieces. The rest of the house is inviting as well. The jetted tubs are nice and there is a self serve beverage bar in the hallway with complimentary soda, coffee, tea, water etc. You can add on massage services by Sherri or a multi-course meal with wine pairings for dinner, cooked and presented by Dawson (and Sherri’s help!). I especially love the add on package that includes a welcome bottle of wine and cheese plate upon arrival. They have games, books and movies for entertainment, and even bicycles for trail riding! We spent some time in the hammock taking a nap on a previous visit. We’ve been many times and will continue coming back. It’s a perfect spot for a staycation since we only live 15 minutes away!

Hard to begin when everything is absolutely perfect from the time you arrive to the sad morning when reality sets in and you're heading home!! Good to book the next visit on that morning. Rooms are clean. Food is outstanding and every detail is addressed if allergies or "not an option" is needed. We have stayed here many times now and every time is our next best time. Also, take the extra time to get a message.

Beautiful home where we enjoyed a few nights celebrating our 25th anniversary. The hosts were wonderful, and we especially enjoyed the meal that Dawson prepared as well as Sherri's massages. Attention to detail and making us feel pampered was amazing! We enjoyed the bikes they provided to ride the Katy Trail. Definitely somewhere we would return!

My husband and I stayed at the Amber House this past weekend and enjoyed it very much. Dawson and Sherri are the perfect hosts - thank you! Our room was charming and the bed very comfortable. We purchased the additional Romance Package when we booked our room and are so glad we did. Our dinner was fabulous. We loved every course, and the wine, too. Breakfast was also delicious. If your travels take you to Rocheport, which is a charming little town, I highly recommend staying at the Amber House.

This was our fifth visit and we can without reservation say that Dawson and Sherri are the consummate hosts. They truly pay attention to detail and strive to give you the best experience possible. The meal/wine pairings are always great and they accommodate food preferences well. And breakfasts are creative and outstanding. The facilities are very well kept and beds are very comfortable. Just an all around relaxing and enjoyable experience!! Amber House is top notch and one of our favorite return destinations!

Bill H “Best BnB Along the Katy Trail”

My friends and I road the Katy Trail from Clinton, MO to St. Charles, MO. The Amber House was located just about half way along the 240 mile Rails-to-Trails Katy Trail. This was an incredible boutique B & B. It reminded me of some of the cozy B & B's my wife and I stayed in on a trip to Ireland. Dawson and Sherri Claridge were very gracious hosts. The living space and rooms were very clean, and decorated with a worldly touch of art. Both Dawson and Sherri are world travelers which was reflected in thier home decorations. Dawson cooked the most outstanding breakfast, which gave us great nutrition for our 35 mile ride from Rocheport to Jeff City. We were able to safely store our bikes in the garage overnight. Before leaving, Dawson gave me a Thresher porter beer from a local brewery, Broadway Brewery, and I drank it once I arrived in Jeff City. I can't saw enough about their hospitality in that short time I stayed there. Eventually I would like to bring my wife back so we can explore the surrounding wineries.

The nicest bed and breakfast we've ever been to!! Sherri and Dawson are fabulous hosts and their place is simply amazing!!! This was our second stay here at The Amber House in Rocheport and I still recommend it as the nicest place in town. The food is delicious and Sherri and Dawson are very helpful and have great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. They even recommended great restaurants for our next stop on the Katy Trail in Jefferson City. And they are very bicyclist friendly too!

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at Amber House. The experience there is amazing. The house, grounds, and rooms are charming and spotless. The beds very comfy. The hosts, Dawson and Sherri, are accommodating and wonderfull. And the food is fantastic. When you stay there opt in for the 4 course dinner with wine pairings. The dinners we ate there equalled or exceeded the best meals we have had in any restaurant. Dawson is an amazing cook and knows about fine dining. My wife is not much of a dry wine fan and Dawson was able to provide her red and white wine pairings that she liked and paired perfectly with the food. We already have reservations to return to the Amber House this summer.

You'll look forward to waking up to breakfast at The Amber House. Help yourself to freshly-brewed coffee on the landing just outside your guest suite, then join us in our dining room where you'll enjoy a full, hot breakfast.

The Amber House is connected with local farmers and takes great pride in supporting the community whenever possible. Some of our producers include Red Buds Farm, Goatsbeard Farm, Patchwork Family Farms, Brush and Trouble Farm, Stem to Table, and we always serve fresh country eggs from a family farm in Boonville. Fritatas, pancakes, fresh fruits, omelets, and french toasts are just a few of the delicious delights you can expect at The Amber House. We serve house-made yogurt and syrups as well.
